In pre-production you oversee various activities, including hiring the production team, location scouting, ensuring compliance with regulations and codes of practice, sourcing equipment and suppliers, selecting crew, engaging supporting artists and contributors, and monitoring the progress of our production departments.
You have extensive experience with working on non-scripted productions.
Having a safe, COVID compliant set is of the upmost importance to you.
On shoot days you're responsible for overseeing all activities, and for ensuring that the production is completed on time and within budget.
You’re excellent at forecasting issues, trouble-shooting and quickly pivoting, while simultaneously inspiring the team to excel in their work every day.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Line Producer in tracking all costs to ensure the production stays within the budget. Communicate and troubleshoot budget problems with the Producers and Production Executives.
Prepare production materials from prep to post and shipping.
Handle the freelance hiring and paperwork. Negotiate deals with artists the producer has chosen.
Work closely with produce to manage workflow and deliverables
Manage production budgets from prep to wrap out.
Properly wrap out productions.
Secure proper filming permits, releases and paper work that are specific to each production
Oversee the production schedule and ensure all production deadlines are met
Manage, motivate and create an environment that's conducive to achieving deadlines as well as artistic achievement. Foster a team culture of collaboration, clear and open communication where mistakes are an opportunity for growth
Communicate daily with production manager and head of production on the status of each department.
Support departments with problem solving, anticipating needs and concerns, and providing solutions
Anticipate and communicate issues to leadership team(s) to reach solutions in a timely manner.
Take notes regarding feedback and decisions made and disperse any required information to all job-related individuals and teams.
Technical ability and knowledge required to run Windows, and Mac-based programs for reviews with crew (dailies), clients, external vendors, and various meetings.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize, schedule, and delegate work effectively.
Must be pro-active and be an effective problem solver.
Must have ability to lead with a positive attitude and encourage collaboration.
Ability to manage time and balance priorities amid the pressures of busy, deadline-driven production.
